Housing Programs

CUPS Supports programs provide a variety of services and support to struggling Calgarians to prevent homelessness and increase stability. Whether it’s financial assistance to help cover unmanageable bills, a birth certificate to register a child in school, or ID for a woman fleeing domestic violence, CUPS Supports removes barriers that prevent Calgarians from accessing basic needs and housing.

The programs assist struggling families and individuals with security deposit payments, payment of overdue electricity and heating bills, obtaining basic identification, crisis management assistance, basic needs referrals and help completing taxes.

This year CUPS Supports helped 300 households including 60 families obtain housing or avoid eviction and homelessness. The program helped 923 people secure identification, to allow them to open bank accounts, attend school and be officially recognized in their communities. We also provided almost 4,000 referrals for food, furniture, clothing, mattresses and Alberta Works Emergency Funding.
